Follow up of the Auditor-General's Performance Audits April 2012 – August 2012

Under section 57 of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, the functions of the Committee include the examination of any report of the Auditor-General laid before the Legislative Assembly and any circumstances connected with those reports. In order to examine the reports, the Committee requests all agencies that are the subject of recommendations or significant comments in a report, 12 months after the tabling of that report, to provide a submission outlining the agency’s response, including any action to date. This submission is then examined, further comment is sought from the Auditor-General, and the Committee may subsequently hold a public hearing with relevant agency officers to clarify issues or obtain further information. The Committee then publishes the submissions and reports on its findings. The current inquiry includes the Committee’s examination of the following Auditor-General's reports tabled between April 2012 - August 2012: Improving the Literacy of Aboriginal Students in NSW Public Schools Managing Overtime: RailCorp and Roads and Maritime Services Physical Activity in Government Primary Schools Settling Humanitarian Entrants in New South Wales
This inquiry was self-referred on 19 September 2013.

That the Committee inquire into and report on any circumstances connected with the following reports of the Auditor-General which the Committee considers ought to be brought to the notice of the Legislative Assembly: Settling Humanitarian Entrants in New South Wales Physical Activity in Government Primary Schools Managing Overtime: RailCorp and Roads and Maritime Services Improving the Literacy of Aboriginal Students in NSW Public Schools.
