Rules of the House

  • ​​​​​​​​Standing rules and orders – the written rules of procedure which provide for the conduct of proceedings in the House including the passage of bills, rules of debate, the maintenance of order, the appointment of committees, and other matters affecting the operation of the House. The standing rules and orders are made under the authority of section 15 of the Constitution Act 1902 and were approved by Her Excellency the Governor on 20 February 2023. 


  • Committees – Rules, Re​solutions and Membership​ – contains the establishing resolutions and membership for each of the current committees of the Legislative Council, as well as committee-related rules and resolutions. This document is routinely updated after each sitting period, with information also accessible via each committee's webpage. ​
