Protest law in New South Wales

This paper examines the right to protest in NSW and the central role of the Summary Offenses Act 1988. The paper also considers offences and police powers that apply to protests in NSW and discusses protest law in other states and territories, including recent legislation affecting protests.

Industrial manslaughter laws​​

In October 2023, the NSW Government announced that it would introduce an industrial manslaughter offence in the first half of 2024, with severe penalties for serious work health and safety breaches that result in death. The purpose of this paper is to put the proposed reforms in their current and historical context.
