This February, the familiar streets of Sydney and the Inner West will be reimagined within the historic Fountain Court of NSW Parliament House. Artist Mark Naismith-Beeley, hosted by Kobi Shetty MP, will unveil "Portrait of a Landscape," a body of new works representing his contemporary practice.

The collection serves as a dialogue between place and perception. Known for his interpretations of Sydney's urban architecture, Beeley's latest work introduces a series of painterly impressions in mood-evoking palettes. These new pieces use chroma and atmospheric brushwork to capture the "energy" of the landscape rather than just its form.

"In an era where our attention is increasingly fragmented by small screens and digital echo chambers, this exhibition seeks to be a unifying force," says the artist. "By maintaining a synergy of palette and brushwork across both detailed streetscapes and expressive impressions, I want to offer an optimistic presentation of our wonderful city."

The exhibition highlights the beauty of shared spaces, moving from literal representation to the "vibrant glow" of memory. It is a tribute to history, community, connections and collective harmony.
