Leaders in Conversation: Economic development and prosperity - looking to the future

Don’t miss the Parliament of NSW’s next Leaders in Conversation: Economic development and prosperity – looking to the future.

The event will highlight the importance of employment outcomes for Aboriginal people and youth through traineeships and pathways.

The panel will feature:

  • The Hon. David Harris MP, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Treaty, Minister for Gaming and Racing, Minister for Veterans, Minister for Medical Research, and Minister for the Central Coast, and State Member for Wyong.
  • Deb Barwick, Chief Executive Officer, NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce and award-winning Aboriginal entrepreneur and business owner (Gamilaroi woman). Deb received the NSW Premier’s Award in 2008, for her work over many years supporting the establishment and growth of Aboriginal-owned businesses.
  • Claire Beattie, Executive Director, Asset Activations, School Infrastructure NSW at the Department of Education (a proud Yorta Yorta woman). Claire has many years of experience in government areas such as transport, education and treasury. Claire is an advocate for young people and the community.
  • Brendan Thomas, Founder and Managing Director at NGNU (a proud Darug man). Brendon has many years of experience in executive roles in the property and construction industry. Brendan serves on the Board of Directors for Community Resources and provides Cultural input as a Traditional Custodian on Darug country.
  • Kobe McFadgean, Trainee in the Infrastructure NSW Traineeship program (a proud Yorta Yorta man). Kobe is studying a Certificate IV in Project Management at TAFE NSW and has completed rotations at Kari Foundation, Transport for NSW, Sydney Metro and CPGB as part of his traineeship.
