Original partner in a firm of woolbrokers and stock and station agents, chairman of directors; Managing Director of Butterbone Pastoral Company which owned Butterbone station near Warren. Member of Aborigines Board from 1898 until 1911. Large shareholder in Rosehill Racing Club, chairman of directors over 25 years. Recreational interests include racehorses, boxing and cricket. Union Club.
