Qualifications, occupations and interests
Pastoralist and agricultural proprieter. Worked for stepfather as a station manager. Inherited Mount Tamar. Subdivided part of estate and had many tenant farmers becoming a popular landlord. In 1859 held 3 runs in Lachlan District totalling 68,000 acres; by 1871 held 8 runs in Wellington district. Helped found Agricultural Association in Bathurst. Built private race course at Tamar. Supported T.S Mort in 1856 election.
