Arrived in New South Wales c.1824; held various occupations; in 1845 journeyed to Brisbane; established the Marie Boiling Down Works in Bremer, Ipswich. established a sawmill; acquired cabbage Tree. Tambourine (Logan) and Kenilworth (Wide Bay) stations; in 1866 became insolvent; Crown Land agent in Ipswich; land commissioner of West Moreton; in 1876 became a land commissioner of East and West Moreton.
