Member of Constitutional Association; chairman of Griffith War Loans committee and Food for Britain fund; Independent Order of Oddfellows Grand Sire, Grand Lodge of Australasia, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of New South Wales, editor from 1949 until 1963, delegate to world conference in the United States of America; management committee of Arncliffe Friendly Societies dispensary; vice president of Arncliffe Progress Association; vice president of South Hurstville Chamber of Commerce; member of Dickens Club in London and Sydney.
