Draughtsman at Registrar General's Department 1908 - 1925, 1932 - 1935, owned a 1200 acre grazing property in the Goulburn district; later had an interest in the timber trade; became Agent General for New South Wales in London from 1946 until 1954; member of Public Service Professional Officers' Association; noted athlete in youth, also Rugby Union then League football; keen racegoer

Son of Peter Tully, railway officer, and Sarah Lovat, teacher. Married Dorothy Kitching on 4 October 1916 and had issue, 2 sons. Roman Catholic. Funeral at Northern Suburbs Lawn cemetery from Our Lady of Dolours Roman Catholic church, Chatswood.
