Member of the central executive from 1907 until 1913, vice president in 1909, president in 1910, last preselection for Belmore in 1917 continuing to Cootamundra, obtained endorsement in 1925 by executive, overuling electorate council; expelled in 1927, stood as an Independent. Brother of James Mark Minahan.

Boot manufacturer. Arrived in New South Wales c.1883; established a boot manufacturing business c.1888; became a major shareholder in the daily mail from 1922 until 1924; one of founders of Westmead Boys' Home; noted for charitable work; visited the United Kingdom in 1915; joint treasurer with D.M Grant and the No-Conscription Campaign Committee in 1916.
