Moved to New South Wales c.1878; employed by Goldsborough Mort and Company., managed Yalgogrin and other stations; late in life purchased Braehour near Wagga Wagga; known for collaboration with McGarvie Smith on anthrax vaccination; chairman of the Rabbit Destruction Fund committee which financed Dr Danysz; chairman of Narranderra Pastures Protection Board until 1897, afterwards of Wagga Wagga Board; for three years was chairman of the Pastures Protection Boards Advisory Council. Member of stockowners and Farmers and Settlers Associations; president of the Murrumbidgee Pastoral and Agricultural Society.
