Founder of Murrumbidgee Turf Club in 1852. Trustee of Free Public Entomological Society of New South Wales in 1862. Patron of science. Trustee of Australian Museum. Founder of Union Club of 1856. Freemason.
Military Service
Captain of the Sydney Volunteer Artillery 1861 until 1866.
