2003 to 2015 LUCRF Superannuation Fund in business development and financial planning. 1995 to 2003 Advocate and official, National Union of Workers NSW Branch. 1993 to 1995 Industrial Inspector, Department of Industrial Relations. 1987 to 1993 Geologist in Geotechnical engineering, and as a consultant thereafter.

Interests include - running and wargaming.
