Community Activity
Local Chairman of AUSCARE. After Parliament was director and honorary chairman of the Willoughby Retirement Community Association for over 14 years where he was responsible for managing the village and for arranging finance and the construction of an aged care facility for 30 residents of the retirement village and surrounding areas.
Qualifications, occupations and interests
Journeyed to Sydney from the farming district of Corobimilla near Narranderra in 1942, and joined the State Public Service. Worked in technical education until 1950 when he transferred to the Lotteries Office. Settled in Willoughby in 1950. Member of Royal Institute of Public Administration, New South Wales Branch. Member of Accounting Services Group, New South Wales Public Service. Recreational interests include grade tennis player and surfing. regular lawn bowler.

Married Mary Hayes on 14 August 1976, and had no issue.
