Business manager. Arrived in New South Wales in 1886. Educated at Sydney Grammar. Joined the staff of Colonial Sugar Refining Company Limited in 1902 as a junior chemist, worked in the mills, became the general manager from 1928 until 1943, and director; granted leave of absence in 1940 to serve as chairman of the New South Wales Board of Area Management, Ministry of Munitions; chairman of British Settlers' Welfare committee from 1931; vice president of the Royal Empire Society; associated with formation of the Old Guard in 1931; author c.1935; President of the Union Club from 1942 until 1943.
