The Committee inquires into the timeliness of the delivery of schools

Pursuant to section 57(1) of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, the Public Accounts Committee has resolved to inquire into and report on the following terms of reference in relation to the timeliness of the delivery of schools: The relationship between the Department of Education and Training (DET), the Department of Public Works and Services (DPWS) and local councils. The impact of the four year State Asset Acquisition Program projections. The adequacy of planning for schools by DET and DPWS prior to announcement. Public consultation and community expectations. Other related matters that the Committee may find necessary to consider. New projects are announced and reported on through various methods, including the Budget Papers and the annual reports of the Department of Education and Training.
