Reference reported to the House 29 May 2001, 2nd Session, Minutes No. 100, Item 19. That the General Purpose Standing Committee No. 2 inquire into and report upon the following matters concerning the quality of care for public patients and value for money in major non-metropolitan hospitals throughout New South Wales. The implementation of quality of care and value for money indicators in public and contracted major non-metropolitan hospitals during the period 1995 to 2001. Mechanisms for comparing quality of care and value for money between these hospitals. Progress in improving quality of care and value for money and reducing variability in quality of care in these hospitals during the period 1995 to 2001. The strategies and measures in place or proposed for improving the quality of care and value for money and for reducing the variability in quality of care in these hospitals for the period 2001 to 2003.
