REMAINING FUNDS FIXING COUNTRY RAIL PROGRAM

(1) Can the Minister advise, have the remaining funds not allocated in the Fixing Country Rail Program as of 26 March 2023 been reallocated to other projects or redirected back to Treasury?

Answer -

I am advised

No.

The former Liberal-National government handed down the worst financial position government in the States history. The incoming government has inherited in excess of $7 billion in unfunded programs and $187 billion in debt over the forward estimates.

The State and Federal governments are currently reviewing programs in light of the former Liberal-

National government’s financial mismanagement and history of cost overruns.
