(1) What is status of the Cobb Highway sealing project?

(2) Are the works to fully seal this highway still scheduled to be finished by July 2023? 

(3) How many TFNSW staff are involved with this project?

(4) How many kilometres as of 14 June 2023 is yet to be sealed?

(5) How many kilometres as of 14 June 2023 have been sealed?

Answer -

I am advised

(1) The former Liberal-National Government did not complete sealing the Cobb Highway during their 12 years in government. As such, the project is ongoing.

(2) The premise of the question is incorrect. The December 2022 Community Update indicated that: “The delivery program has been reviewed and it is expected that all remaining sections on the Cobb Highway will be completed by end October 2023, weather permitting.https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/media/documents/rww/projects/01documents/cobb-hwy-silver-city-hwy-upgrade/cobb-hwy-silver-city-hwy-community-update-2022-12.pdf

(3) Since the start of the project in 2018, there have been about 25-30 staff involved in the construction works at any given time.
