NSW SUPPLY CHAIN

(1) Will the Minister adopt the former Government’s commitment and appoint a supply chain commissioner?

(a) If not, why not?

(2) Can the Minister detail the costs to obtain a heavy vehicle licence?

(a) With reference to (1) above, please include:

(i) Light Rigid?

(ii) Medium Rigid?

(iii) Heavy Rigid?

(iv) Heavy Combination?

(v) Multi Combination?

(3) Will the Minister adopt the former Government’s commitment and subsidise the cost of heavy vehicle licences courses for young truck drivers?

(4) Has the Minister directed her department to work on a supply chain strategy?

(5) Has the Minister directed her department to work on a freight rail strategy?

(6) Has the Minister met with Australian Rail Track Corporation regarding Inland Rail?

(7) Has the Minister met with UGL Regional Linx regarding the Country Rail Network?

(8) Has the Minister met with UGL Regional Linx regarding vegetation management on the Country Rail Network?

(9) Has the Minister received any briefings or reports on the Inland Rail project?

(a) Will the Minister make the briefings or reports public?

(10) Has the minister met with New South Wales Farmers and any producers regarding the increased transportation of goods and services on Rail?

(11) Has the Minister met with Woolworths, Coles, IGA or other major retailers to understand their views how the state’s supply chain can be improved?

(12) Can the minister advise how many heavy vehicle rest stop upgrades have been started and/or completed through the Heavy Vehicle rest stop improvement program?

(13) Will the minister continue the former Government’s program to upgrade Heavy Vehicle rest stops?

(1) The former Liberal-National Government had 12 years to implement policy reform. The former Liberal-National government did not set aside any additional funding to establish a Supply Chain Commissioner. The unfunded commitments of the former Liberal-National government can be found here:

(13) Transport for NSW are developing a program of rest stop upgrades that will improve safety and reduce driver fatigue by supporting the freight industry with their requirements around driving hours and breaks. Transport for NSW recognises that roads are heavy vehicle drivers' workplace, and rest areas are important facilities that support driver wellbeing and compliance with mandatory rest breaks.
