  2. Do all contractors or subcontractors working on or in relation to the WestConnex project comply with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator safety and compliance standards?
Answer -

I am advised that in accordance with the haulage contracts for the New M4 and New M5, all contractors and sub-contractors must have processes in place to comply with Heavy Vehicle National Law and Work Place Health and Safety legislation.

Contractors undertake regular audits of truck driver work diary sheets to verify compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law, work and rest hour fatigue requirements.

Sydney Motorway Corporation is committed to ensuring compliance and has engaged a Chief Heavy Vehicle Compliance Officer to review contractor compliance systems and implement any necessary reforms.
