The Restart NSW fund will enable the NSW Government to fund and deliver
vital infrastructure projects in NSW. At June 2017, funds deposited into
Restart NSW totalled $29.8 billion. This balance of the Restart NSW fund will
fluctuate over time. Restart NSW commitments can be found at
www.treasurv.nsw.gov.au.
In 2017, the NSW Government reserved $1 billion for the Regional Growth:
Economic Activation Fund, which will fund programs including 'Growing Local
Economies', 'Regional Sports Infrastructure' and 'Connecting Country
Communities'. On 19 May 2017, the NSW Government also announced an additional
$50 million for the Resources for Regions program.
Restart NSW is not a commercial investment fund. The purpose of Restart NSW
is to enable high priority infrastructure projects that improve the
productivity and competitiveness of NSW across all sectors.
Funds from the National Infrastructure Investment Fund are being invested
across a diverse range of cash and growth assets, with the aim of preserving
capital and enhancing investment returns for the state within acceptable risk
parameters that match the infrastructure delivery timetable.
