To the President and Members of the Legislative Council, the petitioners of Wamberal, Terrigal, the wider Central Coast and NSW community state that the proposed Wamberal seawall’s ‘end effects’ will have devastating flooding impacts on the adjacent Terrigal and Wamberal lagoons and the homes of thousands of residents living around those lagoons. Lagoon neighbourhood flooding is ignored by seawall studies, the scope of existing studies being limited to Wamberal Beach. The petitioners request that the House
- Orders Council to halt the seawall until an independent lagoon flooding EIS and Council process review are completed
- Stops Wamberal Beach public land transfers
- Directs Council to consult experts/community on adaptive options to sustain lagoon properties and ecosystems and the beach.
