5113 - ENTERTAINMENT QUARTER – UNSOLICITED PROPOSAL

Greenwich, Alex to the Premier

(1) Has any new lease been signed for the Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park since the initial lease signed in 1996?

(a) If so, when was the lease signed and when will it expire?

(b) If not, to what extent is the Government considering the proposal to extend the lease, noting that the original lease for the former showgrounds land expressly states that on its expiration, the land and building are to be returned to the state?

(2) What consultation would occur before:

(a) Any lease is signed?

(b) Changes are made to the State Environmental Planning Policy No 47 – Moore Park Showground (SEPP 47)?

(3) To what extend does the Government remain committed to protecting the former showgrounds from residential and commercial development in line with SEPP 47?
