Chanthivong, Anoulack to the Minister for Transport and Roads

(1) Has the speed limit been reduced on the M5 Motorway after the Belmore Road entry ramp (heading east)?

(a) If so:

(i) What was the old speed limit?

(ii) What is the new speed limit?

(iii) What was the reason for the reduction in the speed?

(2) What other motorways across the Sydney metropolitan area have had speed reductions in the past 12 months (to 4 August 2020)?

(a) What were the reasons for those speed reductions?

 

Answer -

I am advised:

(1) Yes.

(a) 100 kilometres per hour.

(b) 80 kilometres per hour temporarily eastbound between the Belmore Road and King Georges Road off-ramps.

(c) For motorists' safety after the M8 Motorway's recent opening.

(2) None.
