3843 - DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION - EASTLAKES SHOPPING CENTRE

Hoenig, Ron to the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure, and Minister Assisting the Premier on Infrastructure NSW, Leader of the House

In relation to the development application pending for Eastlakes Shopping Centre pursuant to part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979:

  1. (a) Has any person or corporation made representations to the Director General of the Department of Planning, or officers of the Department of Planning in support of the development application?
    (b) If so, what was that communication or representation?

(2) Why, when the Planning and Assessment Commission in September 2010 rejected a recommendation from the Department of Planning to authorise a submission of a concept plan did the Department of Planning continue to deal with the application and the submission of an application without a further concept plan being submitted to the Planning and Assessment Commission?

Answer -

I am advised that:

  1. All submissions received are available to view on the Department's website. The Department has met with both the Proponent and Botany Council regarding the proposal on a number of occasions.
  2. This question refers to the previous Government.
