6042 - HEAVY RAIL SERVICES ON THE BANKSTOWN LINE

Hoenig, Ron to the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure
  1. Considering that Erskineville Station and St Peters Station will be disconnected from the Bankstown line as a consequence of the Sydney Metro, will the Minister commit to continuing to service those stations by heavy rail?
    1. If so, will they be serviced by trains running on the Illawarra line, or by a shuttle service between St Peters and the CBD?
    2. If not, why not?
Answer -

I am advised:

Erskineville and St Peters stations will continue to be serviced as part of the Sydney Trains network following the opening of Sydney Metro City and Southwest in 2024.

The Government is currently assessing the best way to integrate these services onto other lines on the network to provide the best outcome for customers.
