9048 - MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF THE SERVICE AND ASSETS AT THE SUMMER HILL CENTRE

Haylen, Jo to the Minister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Disability Services
  1. Considering the proposed tender of services at the Summer Hill Centre, has the Department of Family and Community Services given a written commitment that they will underwrite the shortfall between the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding and costs for maintenance and management of the service and assets at the Centre?
    1. Has any form of commitment to the above been made to potential tenderers or to families and residents at the Centre?
Answer -

I am advised residents at the Summer Hill Centre currently have in-kind plans in place for services. Achieve Australia is currently preparing Supported Independent Living quotes.

As the Specialist Disability Accommodation provider at Summer Hill, the Department of Family and Community Services has responsibility for the ongoing maintenance of the building and its assets.
