Income support payments are Commonwealth payments. This question should be
referred to the relevant Federal Minister.

NSW Fair Trading conducted a statutory review of the Residential Tenancies
Act 2010 in 2015-16. A report on the review was tabled in the Parliament of New
South Wales in June 2016, which made 27 recommendations for improvements to the
tenancy laws.
The review recommended that the provisions in relation to no grounds
terminations should remain unchanged, and that the Government consider other
ways of improving security of tenure in the rental market.

The Government is finalising a package of reforms to the residential tenancy
laws aimed at improving the renting experience for tenants in New South Wales.
The Government expects to introduce legislation to Parliament in 2018.
