With regard to the Eastlakes shopping centre development application:

  1. What was the detail of discussions held between officers of the Department and the proponent?
  2. What information was communicated by the Department to the proponent?
  3. Did the Department indicate in any way to the proponent what should be contained in the application?
  4. Has the Minister investigated the matters I have personally conveyed to him in relation to the handling of the application?
Answer -
  1. These discussions were related to either the assessment process or the assessment of the merits of the proposal.
  2. The Department communicated with the Proponent on a range of matters relating to either the assessment process or the assessment of the merits of the proposal.
  3. The Department had no role in determining what should be contained in the application.
  4. I am advised that all processes have been conducted in accordance with the policies of the Department.
