- When will the taskforce formed to look at tobacco retailer issues referred
to by the Minister in response to the member for Balmain's Question Without
Notice on 29 August 2013 be convened?
- When will the terms of reference for the taskforce be released?
- Will the taskforce investigate the tobacco retail reform recommendations of
Cancer Council NSW including:
- Further research into the impact of tobacco retailing in New South
Wales;
- A licensing scheme that would assist with the monitoring and enforcing of
current requirements and restricting the number of outlets;
- A regulatory scheme for tobacco retailing to reduce smoking rates?

I am advised:
- The Taskforce is in the process of being convened.
- Draft Terms of Reference for the Taskforce have been prepared for
discussion and finalisation with Taskforce members prior to public release.
- The Taskforce will consider the recommendations made by the Cancer Council
NSW in its report 'Selling Tobacco Anywhere, Anytime Harmful Not Helpful' and
also the outcomes of NSW Health investigations into the potential breaches of
the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2008 reported by the Cancer Council NSW.
