SCHOOL FOOD PROGRAMS

Across NSW, the Minns Labor Government is expanding the number of public schools participating in the School Breakfast 4 Health Program from 500 to 1,000, including in regional NSW.

The Healthy School Canteen Strategy, a collaboration between the NSW Ministry of Health and the Department of Education, aligns with the broader NSW Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) Strategy 2022–2032. Information on the strategy can be accessed on the Healthy School Canteens webpage at https://education.nsw.gov.au/schooling/school-community/healthy-canteens.

Verification of compliance with the Food and Drink Criteria is conducted by the Healthy Food Information Service under contract with NSW Health. Further information can be requested from NSW Health.
