(1) Why have the pedestrian crossing signals at traffic lights in high pedestrian activity zones in inner city areas like Darlinghurst, Surry Hills, Pyrmont, Ultimo, Woolloomooloo and Chippendale that were automated during the pandemic been removed?
(2) Before these automated pedestrian crossing signals were removed at traffic lights:
(a) What consultation occurred with inner city communities?
(b) What assessment was made of their success in protecting pedestrian safety and encouraging active transport use?
(c) What assessment was made of their need given low car ownership rates and high walking and public transport use rates in the inner city?
(3) What consideration was given to setting these pedestrian crossing signals at traffic lights to automated during peak pedestrian hours as done in the Central Business District before they were removed?
(4) What consideration will the Government give to reinstating all automated pedestrian crossing signals at traffic lights in the inner city?
(5) How can residents and visitors in high pedestrian activity zones request that traffic lights be set to automated pedestrian crossing during peak pedestrian hours?
