(1) What actions have been taken by Transport for NSW to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety on Frederick Street, Ashfield, since the fatal accident involving a senior resident on March 13?

(2) Will Transport for NSW signalise the pedestrian crossing?

(3) Will Transport for NSW reduce speeds along Frederick Street?

(4) What other safety measures is Transport for NSW planning to implement on Frederick Street?

Answer -

I am advised:

Transport for NSW has upgraded the pavement marking at the pedestrian crossing near John Street, Ashfield, and have installed additional advance notification signage, and larger pedestrian crossing signage.

Following a speed zone review of Frederick Street between Parramatta Road and Liverpool Road, Transport for NSW will reduce the speed from 60km/h to 50km/h.

Transport for NSW is also undertaking a detailed safety review of Frederick Street, Ashfield and will continue to monitor the Frederick Street corridor.
