Answer -

I am advised:

Transport for NSW is conducting a detailed safety review to investigate safety improvement opportunities. The review will consider the road condition, signage, visibility, speed limits and any other factors that may have contributed to the fatal accident. Transport for NSW has already undertaken to upgrade the line marking and signage at the location as a priority to improve delineation and advance notification approaching the pedestrian crossing.

In 2018, Transport for NSW upgraded the existing pedestrian crossings in Frederick Street near John and Henry Streets. These upgrades improved safety by moving the crossings away from the intersection, calming traffic and reducing the crossing distance for pedestrians.

An investigation by NSW Police into the fatal pedestrian crash on Frederick Street is underway, Transport for NSW awaits the findings of this report.
