Question and Answer Tracking Details

Chanthivong, Anoulack to the Minister for Transport and Roads

(1) Considering the response to LA Q3791, is Transurban required to report M5 East traffic data, including travel times, to the Government?

(a) If so:

(i) How often is this reporting required?

(ii) Which department is is it reported to?

(b) If not, why did you tell the Legislative Assembly on 5 August 2020 during the Public Interest Debate on the M5 East toll that "we are saving those motorists enormous benefits when it comes to travel times" if data to support such a claim is not reported?

Answer -

I am advised:

Transurban is expected to publish a range of M5 East traffic data on later this year.

Real-time travel times for the M5 East Motorway are publicly available on online maps and navigation apps.
