That this House:
(1) Acknowledges that on Tuesday 5 November 2024, 300 nurses and midwives from Northern Beaches Hospital went on strike after six months of enterprise agreement negotiations with private operator Healthscope ended in a stalemate.
(2) Notes that Healthscope pay their nurses and midwives in Queensland up to 16 per cent more than in New South Wales.
(3) Calls on Healthscope to agree to a 15 per cent pay rise and staff-to-patient ratios consistent with standards being rolled out in New South Wales public hospitals in order to retain and attract staff.
