Community Recognition Statements

Community Recognition Statements

Each sitting day Members may give one minute Community Recognition Statements for a total of 30 minutes per day. Members may also submit three written Community Recognition Statement per sitting day, which are recorded in the Hansard of that day.

Community Recognition Statements may:Thank you
  • Congratulate or acknowledge the achievements of people or groups in the community
  • Recognise charity work, retirement or honours and awards
  • Express words of thanks or condolences.

Community Recognition Statements should not contain:
  • Matters of policy
  • Request for the Government or the House, or another body to take action or not
  • Criticisms or negative reflection on any person.
