Trolley Dumping Fine changes

To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly, Trolley dumping has become an issue not just in the local area of St Ives, but all across NSW. It makes NSW look messy, and also nobody even knows how many people are fined for leaving their trollies abandoned or dumped, and also Supermarkets are fined somewhere between $660 and $13,750 if they don't collect the trollies. The undersigned petitioners note that it is rare to see anyone actively monitoring for dumped trolleys, raising concerns about whether individuals or supermarkets are ever actually fined. On the other side of this issue is the dangerous side, where if People leave their trollies lying around, then people could trip over them, or people may not be able to park in spots. We ask the Legislative Assembly to call on the Government to take greater action to ensure that people who dump trollies are actually fined, and also that the fines increase for the individual after that person's first offence. People generally do the right thing, but it can be one person who leaves their trolley out, and someone has an accident. The Government should do what it can to prevent an accident from happening.
