Bowral Hospital Cancer Treatment Centre

To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly, We, the undersigned, acknowledge that the population of Wollondilly has grown significantly and with further growth accelerating putting further pressure on the health services offered at Bowral, Camden and Campbelltown Hospitals. Cancer and rare disease patients are currently served by a small public / private partnership clinic at the private hospital leaving many to travel long distances for diagnosis and treatments. Bowral Hospital currently has both space and scope within the precinct for a cancer and rare diseases centre. We ask the Legislative Assembly to call on the NSW Government to: 1. Acknowledge that the growth of Wollondilly and pressure placed on health services offered at Bowral, Camden and Campbelltown Hospitals. 2. Recognise that residents have to travel long distances out of the area for diagnosis and treatments. 3. Recognise that Bowral Hospital has both the scope and space within the precinct for a cancer and rare diseases centre. 4. Establish a cancer and rare diseases centre at Bowral Hospital.
