Financial Support for Shaping Outcomes following Eviction from the Old Tweed Hospital Site

To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly, of New South Wales. The petition of supporters of Tweed Valley Early Childhood Intervention Service Ltd operating as Shaping Outcomes, brings to the attention of the House the recent eviction of Shaping Outcomes from The Tweed Hospital site in Tweed Heads due to hospital operations moving to the new Tweed Valley Hospital from 14 May 2024. Shaping Outcomes is a parent-led, non-profit community organisation that has been providing early intervention services to the Tweed community for 43 years. Shaping Outcomes provides developmental and inclusion support delivered in natural settings, children’s homes, early childhood settings or schools, and within the community. The Shaping Outcomes premises at The Tweed Hospital site has been funded by contributions from Tweed residents, local businesses, community groups, registered clubs and philanthropists. The undersigned petitioners therefore ask the Legislative Assembly to support Shaping Outcomes and the vital service it provides to families in the Tweed and call on the NSW Government to financially support Shaping Outcomes in its forced relocation to ensure this important organisation can continue assisting local children for many more years to come.
