Recall and Resume the Parliament of NSW Now

Petitioner: Mr Michael Andjelkovic | Member: Butler, Roy | No. of Signatories: 24,511 | Date closed: 24/11/2021
To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly, The Petition of the residents of New South Wales brings to the attention of the House the request of the people to recall the NSW Parliament immediately to discuss and vote on ongoing lockdown regulations and other Parliamentary Business. At the 21 August 2021 COVID briefing, Premier Gladys Berejiklian said, "...I'm the Premier of the largest State in Australia, and I expect to be held to account, I expect every decision that we (NSW Government) take to be scrutinised, to be commented upon..." If the Premier's statement is genuine, then she needs to demonstrate her willingness for both her and her government to be scrutinised and held to account. The Premier needs to recall NSW Parliament, including the Legislative Assembly, where the representatives whom the community elected to represent them, can hold the Premier and your government to account. The Premier says she manages the biggest State in Australia, yet under her watch she hasn't managed to adapt to COVID with introduction of online Parliament, as they have in other states and in our Federal Parliament. Under her watch we've seen calamity and chaos.
