To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly, we are petitioning on behalf of adjoining Landholders and Residents of Gundary NSW and citizens of the Goulburn Mulwarre area, NSW.
The petitioners bring to the attention of the House that we oppose the solar farm to be built by LIGHTSOURCEBP at 961 Windellama Rd, Gundary NSW covering 1560 acres of productive agricultural land.
Goulburn/Gundary is not part of a State Government Regional Energy Zone (REZ).
The land concerned is prime agricultural land (Class 3 and rated as RU1) and contributes to ensuring Food Security.
The property devaluation and mental health impacts on directly impacted farmers is not compensable and is likely to have serious consequences for individual and families.
The land is stunning visually.
The site is part of the Sydney Water catchment.
More than 74 working farms and residences will be directly affected visually and/or physically and by the severe fire risk.
The Gundary locality is a relatively closely populated rural area.
