Parliament Unpacked: Belonging & Representation

Parliament Unpacked: Belonging & Representation

Join us for a free panel discussion exploring how the diverse voices of communities across NSW are represented in Parliament today.

New South Wales is a representative democracy, in which the people entrust the task of government to elected representatives in the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council. These members are, in turn, responsible for representing all the people in their communities — including those whose views, backgrounds, cultures and life experiences may differ from their own.

In Parliament Unpacked: Belonging and Representation, Members of Parliament will reflect on how representation works in practice — from listening to community voices, to understanding different lived experiences and expressing those perspectives within the parliamentary process.
