The Strangers’ Restaurant overlooking the beautiful Domain, provides a rare opportunity for the public to experience fine dining at New South Wales Parliament House. 

The award-winning culinary team are proud to showcase the wonderful delicacies, fresh flavours and unique regions of New South Wales, whilst supporting local communities who practice ethical and sustainable farming methods.



New South Wales Parliament House have long played host to a high calibre of esteemed guest. From Heads of State, World Leaders,​ Consul Generals​ and Ambassadors, to Hollywood stars and members of Royal families. Famous names include King Charles III, the late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Mary of Denmark and actress Audrey Hepburn​ to name a few.​

Enjoy a delicious three course lunch with matching wines in the beautiful Strangers’ Restaurant. Executive Chef, Vanessa Harcourt designs beautiful menus that showcases the wonderful flavours of local produce from across the state. The menu rotates throughout the year to accommodate the seasonal change of local produce. Tour + High Tea | Most Fridays | 11:30 am to 2:30 pm

Indulge in an afternoon of elegance and history at the Parliament of NSW. Available every Friday, except on public holidays or when Parliament sits, this curated package includes a tour at 11.30am followed by High Tea in Strangers’ Restaurant from 12.30pm. Treat yourself to a quintessential experience at one of Australia’s oldest buildings and enjoy a tour with our expert guides followed by high tea with a view over The Domain parklands.

11:30am Parliament House Tour

Experience the historical architecture of one of Sydney’s oldest buildings while getting a first-hand look at the workings of Australia’s first Parliament. The tour is conducted in English and is suitable for visitors of all ages. Departs promptly at 11:30am from the main reception desk located at the front of the building.

12:30pm High Tea

Steep yourself in history with our classic high tea menu that strikes the perfect balance between modern Australian flavours and tradition to please any palate. With tumbling dry ice and sweet and savoury treats galore, enjoy petits fours with a side of history. Your tour guide will walk you to the restaurant at the conclusion of the tour. There will be time for a short break before taking your seats in the restaurant for the High Tea.

Long Bell Cafe | Monday to Friday | 9:30 am to 4:00 pm

The Long Bell Café is open to the public and provides a quiet place to enjoy a coffee or light meal whilst exploring the wonders of Parliament House. 
Meal items include handmade delicacies such as cakes, pastries, sandwiches, wraps, salads, croissants and chocolate bars available between 11:30 am to 2:15 pm. 
Located behind the central fountain, the Café provides a walk-in service, therefore no bookings are required.​

Gift Shop | Monday to Friday | 9:30 am to 4:00 pm

The Parliament Gift Shop, located within the Long Bell Cafe features a range of locally sourced products from New South Wales. 
Items include organic candles, raw honey, Parliamentary books, stationery itemsgreeting cards, indigenous products and a selection wine, gin, whisky, beer and rum.

 

Located within the historic precinct of Sydney, this heritage listed building is rich in history and full of hidden surprises. There are seven unique event spaces within Parliament House that are available to hire, including a stunning auditorium, a large dining room with garden views and a majestic library which dates back to 1905. Visitors have the rare opportunity to experience key moments in the history of Australian politics whilst exploring the magnificent collection of historic artefacts, priceless art and precious antiques.
