​​For over forty years, the NSW Parliament Former Members Association (FMA) has worked to promote the welfare of former members. The Association brings together allies and rivals to reconnect and recall the unique experiences of a career in public life.

The Association helps former members stay connected with former and current colleagues and hosts social events held throughout the year to bring them together. Members and Associates (typically the partners of Former Members) enjoy discounted entry to events and activities where costs apply.

The FMA is strictly non-partisan and is managed by a cross-party Executive elected by its members.

Over the last year or so, the Association has hosted a variety of well-attended social and networking events, including:​

• a tour of the NSW State Library, guided by the State Librarian, in which we viewed some of the valuable and interesting manuscripts and books owned by the people of NSW
• numerous behind-the scenes inspections of new infrastructure projects such as the new Sydney Fish Markets before they were opened to the public, the construction site of the new Powerhouse Museum at Parramatta, and two visits to the construction site of the new Western Sydney International Airport
• the annual Roger Wotton lunch hosted in the Royal Agricultural Show Members Restaurant and which includes a day out the Royal Easter Show 
• our annual golf day at the Long Reef Golf Club on Sydney’s Northern Beaches ​
• our annual Christmas functions at NSW Parliament House with guest speakers including Mike Munro, journalist, author and television presenter, and Professor Ian Caterson, obesity expert​

Membership is available for a one-time Life Membership fee. Former Members of other Australian Parliaments who are resident in NSW may join as Associate Members. 

Each year, the FMA donates to a NSW children’s charity during its Annual General Meeting.
