Visiting​ the Assembly during sittings

The Public Gallery is open when the Legislative Assembly is sitting. For sitting days please see the sitting day calendar​.

When the Legislative Assembly is sitting, proceedings commence at 12 noon on a Tuesday and at 10.00 am on Wednesday and Thursday. For an indication of what occurs each sitting day see the Sitting Day Routine of Business​​.

Question Time takes place in the Legislative Assembly from 12 noon on a Tuesday and at 11.00 am on Wednesday and Thursday of a sitting week. Members of the public are welcome to view Question Time and other proceedings in the House from the Public Gallery. ​​

If you wish to be sure of a seat please ring 9230 2219 to book in for Question Time. If you are attending Question Time please arrive at Parliament 15 minutes before its start time on the day of your visit and make yourself known to a member of staff at the Assembly front desk. 

No food or drink is allowed in the Public Gallery. The taking of photographs or video footage of proceedings is not permitted.  Please be silent in the galleries – applause or other disruptions are not permitted.

Entrance is via the security gate house on Macquarie Street, near the State Library.​

Parliament is fitted with ramp and lift access, signage with raised lettering, induction loops , accessible toilets, parent facilities and accessibility parking.
