A Little Night Sitting: Democratic Systems - Westminster vs Presidential

Join Parliamentary Education for our final A Little Night Sitting for 2017 where we will present perspectives on two types of democracy: Westminster and Presidential.

Which of these government systems has the best checks and balances? Which one better protects the rights of citizens?  Which one keeps citizens better informed and engaged in public life?  Hear Professor Rodney Smith and Dr David Smith from the University of Sydney speak about the ways in which these comparative democracies represent citizens.

A Little Night Sittings are community events aimed at exploring the role and function of the Parliament and its history. Held several times each year, participants also have the opportunity to watch both houses of parliament in session and meet members where possible.

WEDNESDAY 15 NOVEMBER 2017 • 5.00pm to 7.00pm (Registration fom 4:45pm)
