Are there live captions on livestreams of Parliament of NSW?
To enable live captions, select the livestream you'd like to view and click the subtitles button in the lower right-hand corner of the video player. Select the "English CC" option and live captions will be enabled.
Audio captions are an accessibility aid published during parliamentary proceedings and are not a formal record of proceedings.
What are the requirements to view the livestream?
An HTML 5 compatible web browser running on a desktop computer or mobile device is required to view webcasts from this site. Broadcasts of parliamentary proceedings are subject to these terms and conditions.

Why is the livestream video black?
If the video player is black or unavailable, the proceedings may not have started yet. Check the Daily Program or Running Record for the scheduled start time and try again closer to the start time.
How can I troubleshoot audio issues?
- Ensure your computer speakers are unmuted and turned up or your headphones are connected – check a YouTube video to see if your sound is working.
- Check that the sound in the video player is unmuted (the volume button is on the bottom left of the video player).
- If you are hearing an echo, check you don’t have the video playing on another tab or browser.
How can I troubleshoot video issues?
- Ensure you have pressed play on the browser to begin the video.
- Try refreshing your browser to ensure you are playing the live version of the video.
- Try another browser such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox and make sure your browser is up to date.
- Try selecting a lower quality version of the video – via the gear icon in the bottom right-hand corner.
- Check your internet connection – try switching to a mobile 5G connection/stable WiFi/ethernet connection or vice versa.
- Disable browser extensions or try incognito/private browsing mode.
- If problems persist, try restarting your device or use a different device.
